Investigations |
Investigations are essentially researches done by hospitals or medical laboratories for medical diagnostic purposes. Examples of Investigations are: Blood test, Urine test, Chest X-ray, Electrocardiogram, Ultrasound of certain body part or organ, etc. Investigations have costs associated with them and this information is also stored in database. This in order to allow the specialist who produces the Rule of logic to pick up the cheapest one of the same parameter/problem can be equally studied by different alternative investigations.
The Investigation may be suggested as a conclusion of Rule of logic. Investigations can be also entered into patient's Medical Records. That would mean that the patient has already passed this investigation and this would prevent the system from suggesting it again.
The Investigations are logically linked to Research results but they are not the same things. For example, Blood test is Investigation. When WBC, Hemoglobin, C Reactive protein discovered by blood test are Research results parameters. Therefore the Investigation represents the higher level in this hierarchy when Research results parameters represent the lower level.
